The Final Count Up
We're now at the mid-point between Christmas Day and the New Year. With the final issue of the magazine still lingering in our memories, it feels appropriate to do a last overview of what and who Black Static has published.
With the release of double issue #82/83 Black Static has presented readers with a grand total of 469 stories (excluding the 20 flash fictions that featured in #17/18 as part of the Campaign for Real Fear).
Of those 469 stories 149½ (32%) had a female by-line (for the statistical purists, that's 148 stories written by women, and three that were co-written with men).
214 writers had fiction appear in the magazine and 80 (37%) of them were women.
